Lorena grew up in Mexico and the time she spent there, amongst beautiful Mexican Folk Art, shows in the amazing body of work. Each of Lorena's intriguing creations seems to hold an untold secret that keeps you guessing its true meaning with each glance. She has become a very active and recognized artist in wearable metal clay art. Her work has been featured in several books and publications and countless online articles and industry websites. Lorena creates her unique jewelry with silver, copper, and bronze; all designs start with one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces produced at her studio in San Antonio, Texas.

Nice coffee table book

I was hoping this was going to show different brooch pin mechanisms, it doesn't! It just shows how artists finish the backs with piercing or overlays . Nice coffee table book. Not what I was expecting.

Good photos depicting decorations on the back of contemporary brooches.

This is not a survey of clever pin mechanisms. It is a survey of mostly (probably entirely) contemporary pieces that have decoration on the back. I was unimpressed by many of the brooches both aesthetically and stylistically. The photos are excellent so if you like these brooches you are in luck. I suggest seeing the book before buying it.

Gorgeous, unique, eye-opening

It's very easy to lose yourself in this book. With so many tiny details to note on each pin front and back, so many different artist stories in the jewelry, and fascinating use of materials as well as careful attention to layout/ font and wonderful introductions, I have spent delightful hours immersed. I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in jewelry!
