About the Author
Carol Gestwicki was an instructor in the early childhood education program at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina, for over 30 years. Her teaching responsibilities have included supervising students in classroom situations as they work with families. Earlier in her career, she worked with children and families in a variety of community agencies and schools in Toronto, New York, New Jersey, and Namibia (South West Africa). She received her MA from Drew University. She has been an active member of the NAEYC for many years, including making numerous presentations at state and national conferences. She has been a Fellow in the Early Childhood Leadership Development Project at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and she has been associated with the T.E.A.C.H. Model/Mentor program. Her other publications include more than two dozen articles about child development and family issues and scripts and design for 14 audiovisual instructional programs. She has three other books on topics in early education published by Delmar Learning: Developmentally Appropriate Practice: Curriculum and Development in Early Education, Fifth edition (2013); Essentials of Early Education (1997); and Authentic Childhood: Exploring Reggio Emilia in the Classroom (2002). Currently, she writes a regular column titled "Grandma Says" for Growing Child.

Great ending

I can honestly say that this was the most uniquing marriage proposal I've ever heard! But I hesitate to give it five stars because of the book's length. Other than that the series was interesting and held my focus.

I recommend the three books be made into two possibly one. It isn't fair to the reader. It's a bit underhanded.

I loved this book. I became so swept up with the characters and the story. It was a wonderfully different story that keeps you enchanted throughout the story with unexpected twists and turns. I am so glad this is the first of a trilogy and cannot wait to read the coming books! I would say more about this wonderful book but the previous review was completely thorough. :)

From beginning of book number one, to ending of book number three my interest never slowed. Well written with interesting characters and a good revolving plot. Romance and interesting twists all along the way. A nice weekend read.

About the Author

David A. Stephenson is a technical specialist at Ford Powertrain Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in Livonia, Michigan. Earlier, Stephenson worked for several years at General Motors Research and General Motors Powertrain; he has also worked at Third Wave Systems, Inc., D3 Vibrations, Inc., the University of Michigan, and Fusion Coolant Systems. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a Fellow of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). He has served as a journal technical editor for both societies, and served on the ASME Manufacturing Science and Engineering Division Executive Commitee from 2002 to 2007.

John S. Agapiou is a technical fellow at the Manufacturing Systems Research Lab at General Motors R&D Center, Warren, Michigan. He is also part time professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Wayne State University. His research focus involves developing and implementing world-class manufacturing, quality, and process validation strategies in the production and development of the automotive Powertrain. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering at the University of Louisville in 1980 and 1981, respectively, and his PhD from the University of Wisconsin in 1985.

Z.B.: die kulturellen Unterschiede in �sterreich, in der T�rkei oder in anderen L�ndern.
Dieser Film ist ein menschliches Drama, es wird gezeigt wie sich die Probleme dieser Welt auf einzelne Individuen auswirken. Ich finde diese Darstellung sehr spannend, weshalb ich mich darauf freue diesen Film genauer zu bearbeiten.

Hoot Loudly and Swing a Big Stick

What, no reviews for a book which emerged from a tiny small press collective to become an American Book Award winner? Griever is a delight, a postmodern absurdist melange which offers a scathing indictment of suppression of human rights in China, and, more broadly, government and individual hypocrisy and the manner in which both big business and big government degrade human experience. Vizenor uses the common thread of the trickster in Native American and Chinese culture to present a fantasized version of his travels to China on an academic exchange program. He becomes a trickster Monkey King and all sorts of hell breaks loose. You can bet that the Chinese government will not be inviting Vizenor back soon, but I invite you to read Griever. It's a hoot! For Native American AND Asian American literature buffs

Vizenor's book examines the interesting question of cultural parallelism, as he explores the similarities between Native American trickster traditions and the Chinese Monkey King tradition. Vizenor creates a wonderful double structure in which Griever's "Journey to the West" has two components--a Native American journey and a Chinese journey--and therefore requires that all the analogies to the Chinese Monkey tradition take two different forms--one for Griever and one for his Chinese colleagues. Fans of Journey to the West or Monkey should be interested in how he re-interprets these characters in light of the modern re-colonization of China by the West, while fans of Native American literature will enjoy seeing how he connects his own Indian tradition to its Chinese analogue.
