Tammi and Eric
By Danny Matthews
This book was very good. Tammi tells us what life is like behind bars for Eric. and how hard it is to be married to someone locked up for life. this book is a easy read with lots of info on prison life as well as her life as a mother. I think this book was very well written. anyone who has had intrest in the menendez case would like this book.

Couldn't get past the poor editing
By Amazon Customer
This book initially interested me because I knew Erik Menendez briefly pre-crime and was interested in seeing how he's survived behind bars. However, I couldn't get past the numerous typos, grammatical errors, and all-around shoddy editing job in this book. They were just too distracting. I got the sense that Erik Menendez might have edited this himself with a smuggled night-light, a Sharpie, and too many prison distractions interrupting his flow. If you don't mind reading a book that screams, "I yam a booke wit no editar," then go for it.

Pretty pretty pretty good
By Amanda L. Harding
I admit it, I bought this out of an abundance of fascination. I really wanted to know what would drive a woman to sign up for such a lonely existence. I actually ended up really enjoying this book-there were parts that I skimmed completely (she's a bit more spiritually minded than myself and goes on in several spots more than I could take), but overall, I thought this was surprisingly well written. I really felt that I could see, why this woman, in her circumstance, can actually be happy in this marriage. I was pretty disgusted at the (written) behavior of the CA DOC, I'd like to think I am not naive, but I guess I expect the stewards of the law in this land to abide by the rules themselves. It did give me pause a couple of times when Tammi expressed frustration at Erik for being late to a weekly visitation. She admits to having little patience with people who are habitually late-but, uh, the dude is in PRISON. There is a whole scene where she basically chastises him for being late and when he proceeds to attempt to explain that there was a fight in the yard that he had to skirt to get there, she said something like "SO I HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE UPSET THAT YOURE LATE BECAUSE YOU HAD TO BATTLE THE UNIVERSE TO GET TO ME?". I'm not kidding. He ended up apologizing in the book, she actually admitted this kind of proudly. That was very off putting. I ended up seeing her as a rational being after all, a very purposeful and driven woman, a little quirky-but not a nut job. One last comment-they pic of tammi on the cover is not a good one. I am shocked she chose that one to grace the cover. She looks so matronly and although Eriks eyes are closed dreamily as he holds her, she is staring, eyes agape at nothing and the whole pic is just unimpressive. Inside you see pics that are much more demonstrative of their feelings for each other and there is a pic with tammi and a monkey (no, there really is) where she looks downright beautiful. Just sayin
