Terry is the Co-founder and CEO of Gurno Group, LLC. As a speaker, trainer, and coach, his passion is to inspire leaders to bring out the greatness in those they lead and to help people discover their purpose, ignite their passion, and live a life of significance.
Terry lives in the beautiful city of Coeur d Alene, Idaho with his wife, Nancy. They have three grown children; Chelsea, Levi and Ali. When he's not speaking, training, or coaching, he enjoys hiking, fishing, boating, music, sports, cooking, participating in triathlons, and reading. He loves to laugh, learn, create, and help others do the same.

Books on leadership are not scarce! A quick internet search or a stroll through your local bookstore will bear out that truth! From opposite ends of the spectrum, both theorists and practitioners have written on the topic. Leading is Art by Terry Gurno is incredibly refreshing because it is drawn from the best of both of those worlds!
In this book, Terry draws from a lifetime of practical leadership experience as well as offering authoritative insight and best practices. He is a leader of leaders who "talks the talk" but also has "walked the walk". His experience and track record in shaping organizational cultures (both corporate and church), as well as coaching individual leaders uniquely positions him to address this critical topic. The book clearly reveals that he understands people and systems. That insight challenges the reader to re-frame their traditional concepts of leading in practical, actionable ways!

Practical Leadership Tools

This book is game changer if you want to grow in influence. Every leader must learn to challenge themselves and grow. However, to make your organization grow and become great, the leader must focus on helping others win. Everyone has the capacity for greatness, it is up the leader to draw it out. Most leadership books focus on the science of leading people and organizations. While this is necessary information, it does not always translate into influence. This is the chief difference with Terry's book. It is intensely practical, and doable. I highly recommend this to any leader who wants to not just make their organization great, but the people around them great!
