Short, easy, Biblically-based devotional with real life application.

I am a fan of June Hunt's late-night radio show. I heard about this devotional book on the program. The devotions are short, to the point and have Scriptures with each one. I can hear the lovely, comforting voice of June as I read. Her heart for God speaks to my heart. Thank you for a book that is easily applicable to real life situations and is based on Biblical Truth.

Lovely and powerful little book!

I absolutely loved this little book! This one I purchased for a dear friend of mine, but I had received one years ago and read it for myself, and it really started me on my recovery from low self-esteem and hurt and bitterness. June Hunt is an excellent writer and this little book is like a workbook where you break down key verses in the Bible and realize how the Word of God pertains to you personally. It was truly an eye-opener and a huge blessing. I recommend this book to anyone who has trouble believing, even at times, that God truly loves you. Amen.

Engaging, challenging, biblical and compelling argument

Ed Shaw's book reveals the joys and sorrows of living faithfully as a same-sex attracted Christian. It would be an excellent resource for pastors and youth group leaders to absorb. He shows how our attitudes to sex and love and family have departed from the biblical teaching, and have led to the situation where the Bible's teaching seems so hard to accept.

He gives practical advice on how we can address this situation, but also gives helpful information on how we can live better together as a Christian community.

Shaw gives nine missteps on the path away from Jesus and his teaching:
1. Your identity is your sexuality
2. A family is Mum, Dad and 2.4 children
3. If you're born gay, it can't be wrong to be gay
4. If it makes you happy, it must be right!
5. Sex is where true intimacy is found.
6. Men and women are equal and interchangeable.
7. Godliness is heterosexuality.
8. Celibacy is bad for you.
9. Suffering is to be avoided.

Advanced Metaphysics

This is essential reading for serious students of metaphysics. It is easier to understand and written in more accessible terminology than Blavatsky or Bailey. It can be compared to Max Heindl in terms of information, and although the information is not new, it is a roadmap of our evolution as the human race from a cosmic perspective.

An esoteric view of evolution

In this book Rudolf Steiner shares esoteric knowledge of prehistory, the Akashic Records, Atlantean Ancestors and a theory of evolution markedly different from Darwinism.
I thought I would find this too far fetched but the philosophy behind his views is so gentle, it is worth reading for that alone.
Overall it is very interesting and I am eager to read more of Steiner's work.

I have been reading many different kinds of books (e.g., Edgar Cayce, Tibetan and Egyptian books of the dead, Eckhart Tolle, NDEs, etc) to increase spiritual awareness. I just could not get into this book and it was a struggle to get to the end. There was quite a bit of repetitive babbling and it did not flow (maybe in part due to being a collection of essays). When I complete these type of readings, I always write down highlighted sections into a personal diary for future reflection. There was nothing from this book that I wrote down to reflect upon.
